In the Sugihara House, visitors are presented with an up-to-date audiovisual exposition in the hisctorical rooms of the former consulate.

With the help of modern technology, we present unique moments of Chiune Sugihara’s life, stories of those who were rescued by him.

The museum exhibits documents brought from Japanese archives previously unseen in Lithuania: the authorizations of President Antanas Smetona to vice-consul Chiune Sugihara, the diplomat’s accounts of his work in Lithuania, telegrams to the Japanese government about the situation in 1940, and the list of issued visas.

The exposition, “Visas for Life,” is greatly enriched by documents long preserved: photographs and passports from the personal archives of survivors’ families.
